1)Why did you decide to participate in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant?
I participated in Miss Hong Kong Pageant for two reasons. The first reason was because graduated from university
and was looking for a job in the tv industry. My major was Radio and Television Arts (i.e. TV Production), so I wanted to see
and be involved in a big production (like MHK).I also thought that MHK would be a short-cut for me tond a job on TVB as a
production crew. The second reason was because my family thought that it woulde a nice experience for me to learn
more about myself i.e.gain
more confidence, and at the same time, meet some few friends,
learn about makeup, catwalk, etc.etc.And at the end, both of these goals were met.I did find a job in
TV (just not production wise) and also met some really good friends.
2)What was the first thing that popped in your mind before they announced the 2nd runner up?
To tell you the truth, I was so nervous and happy at the moment that I didn't even think of anything.I was
already crying so hard that I got into top 5, so nothing really went through my mind except simply "happiness".The only thing
I remembered right after they announced my name as 2nd runner up was that I thought "Oh my gosh" and then I hugged Carrie
(who was right next to me) and then my aunt and brother. It was justso shocking and suprisingor me cause because all along,
I thought I was just a participant and not a winner since my compeitors were so strong. The of course I started
crying again.
3)Have you thought about getting 2nd runner up?
All along, I never thought I was going to win because mentioned earlier, my competitors were so strong, and
second of all, my purpose was to find a production job in TVB and learn.I thought "THE MOST" i can get is 2nd runner up.I
can never be a winner! My parents always tell me that my face is too young for a MHK winner, so the most i can be is "2nd runner
up".The night before the pageant, I told my mom that I think I won't be winning anything, I'm just running along with other
girls, so don't have too much confident and hope in me.?Luckily, I did win and I was so happy and delighted.?But the most
important thing washat I really
enjoyed the whole training section with the girls.I learned how to do my make up,public speaking, dancing and
and most importantly how to walk in high-heels.Those were fun times, just like a summer camp!
4)Do you still keep in touch with all the contestants you competed with?
Yes, we still keep in touch and we seldom come out for little gatherings, like lunch, dinner, shopping, movies,
or karaoke.?Many of them are still good friends like Mandy, Carrie, Ivy, Livia, Rabeea, Selena, Amy, Alice, Kimmy, Vay, and
Gladys.I even met girls in MHK 2001, 2004, and 2005.
5)What was your most memerable experience during the pageant?
My most memorable experience during the pageant would be during the night of the pageant where they annouced
top 5.Ivy and I were standing on the two 'elimination slides" (whatever you call it) and then both of us went down (i.e. to
be eliminated) and then we came back up!We were both so shocked and were afraid that there was really something wrong with
the machine, so we stood there and waited. Then, the MC's annouced that both of us were in.I started crying right after because
I was so happy and delighted. It was unstoppable!!
6)Who is your all time favorite Miss Hong Kong winner?
My all time favourite Miss Hong Kong Winner is Loletta Chu.I used to think it could be other MHK's but Loletta
is really the best choice. I met her in real person because of joining Wai Yin Association. We would have meetings toegether.
In fact she is
very polite, pretty (in person), educated, and elegant.?The way she speaks and presents herself makes you feel
that she is very well educated and intelligent.Shealso gives you a very pleasant feeling. So out of all MHK's, I would choose
Loletta as my favourite!!
Charmaine:Interviewing you Priscilla gives me a pleasant feeling too! Thanks Priscilla!!
