1) Why did you decide to participate in the Miss Sydney Chinese pageant?
Actually, my parents had encouraged me to participate because they thought it would be a great opportunity for me
to try something different in life. They said it would be a challenge for me in terms of public speaking and performance and
it would build up my confidence, most of all it would give myself some good memories to look back on when i'm old...'at least
i've done something out of the norm when i was young'!
2) What was going through your head when you were announced Miss Popularity AND the winner of Miss Chinese Sydney?
Honestly speaking, I was very nervous at the Miss Sydney Pageant so when I was standing there on stage
as top 1 of the 5 contestants I didn't really know what to think. Getting Miss Popularity was good encouragement and
gave me hope of getting into top 3, but winning the pageant quite unexpected.
3) You recently flew to HK for the MCI pageant, how was the experience?
It was a FANTASTIC experience! Initially I was slightly nervous because I thought many of the girls will
be very intimidating also because Sydney hasn't won in a long time. But when I met the girls on the first day in
HK I found out that many of them were extremely friendly and were all special in their own ways. It was even more of a challenge
for me to be working with girls that are so beautiful and talented. I think this experience is so valuable to all girls!
4) What was going through your head when you were announced Miss Chinese Culture?
WOW, at that time I was quite surprised to have received that award. I couldn't believe that i've actually achieved
something and was quite satisfied with my achievement already. Its the first award for Sydney in 17 years.
5) The press regarded you as a dark horse throughout the pageant, how did you feel to come out as the winner?
Becoming the winner was such a surprise even to myself. I never expected to win this pageant from the first day and
on the night I didn't think about winning or not, I just wanted to have fun and do my best. I think sometimes less attention
from the press gives yourself less pressure to meet expectations of the public and therefore I didn't have any expectations
for myself either.
6) What was going through our head when you were announced the winner of MCI07?
I couldn't believe it. If you look back to the crowning moment, my face looked so shocked/surprised/happy at the
same time. I just thought, oh my god, this can't be happening to me. Even after the event and the press conferences, I thought I
was living in a dream.
7) Who is your all time favorite pageant winner?
Definitely Kit Wong from Sydney. Go the Aussie Spirit! She was one od the judges for MSCP and I met her
at a Press Conference back in Sydney, she's beautiful and very very friendly.
